THE ROLE

You've spent a year or two at a law firm. You're sharp, structured, and good at what you do — but you're ready to own something instead of advising on it. You want to be inside the room, not outside it.

This role puts you at the center of how we operate. You'll build and run the legal and compliance function at Pale blue dot, working closely with the GPs and Operations on everything from deal structuring to fund compliance. You won't be doing it alone — external counsel is available when you need it — but you'll be the one driving the process from the inside. And you'll do it differently than it's been done before: with AI as a core part of your toolkit.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll lead legal due diligence on new deals, negotiate and draft term sheets and investment documentation, and project-manage legal workstreams on exits. On the fund side, you'll handle LP transfers, corporate governance, AML/KYC, and regulatory reporting to Finansinspektionen and FCA. You'll review and maintain compliance policies, run internal risk workshops, and support SFDR reporting. You'll also be the person portfolio founders turn to with legal and regulatory questions.

It's a broad, hands-on role. No two weeks look the same.

ABOUT YOU

You have a law degree and at least a year at a reputable firm, with exposure to M&A, venture transactions, or corporate governance. You don't need prior in-house experience — but you need to be ready for it. You're familiar with the startup world, either through clients or your own curiosity.

What sets you apart is your appetite for process. You're the person who notices when something is broken and can't leave it alone until it's fixed. You want to build the legal function from the inside, not maintain it from a distance.

You're also genuinely excited about AI. Not as a buzzword — but as something you're already using to work faster and think more clearly. You use Claude, ChatGPT, or legal AI tools for drafting, research, and contract review, and you're actively curious about what comes next. We're a small team that moves quickly, and we expect this role to push what's possible in how legal work gets done at a VC fund.

As Pale blue dot grows, the legal and compliance function will expand in scope, complexity, and influence. This role is built around legal and compliance expertise; it is not planned to become an investment role, but it will grow meaningfully alongside the fund.
